Brisbane School District
Building Thoughtful Citizens
The Brisbane School District graduates students who are thoughtful, prepared, and engaged citizens. Our program emphasizes conceptual understanding, teaching the Common Core State Standards through year-long themes. With an emphasis on higher order thinking skills, we focus on understanding, evaluating, and creating. We thread Lifeskills throughout our curriculum with the goal of providing our children the tools for citizenship and life.
Welcome New Superintendent Ronan Collver
The Board of Trustees of the Brisbane School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Ronan Collver as their new Superintendent effective July 1, 2016. The Board is confident that Mr. Collver will build upon the foundation of excellent programs already in place in the District. His qualifications and experience very closely match the Leadership Profile developed by the Board and the school community in the search process.
Mr. Collver holds an Administrative Credential from Humboldt State University and a Bachelor’s Degree from San Diego State University. He most recently served as Superintendent/Principal of the Scotia Union Elementary School District in Scotia, CA. Throughout his 23-year career as a public educator, he has been a superintendent/principal in two school districts, an assistant principal in an elementary and a high school as well as having been a classroom teacher.
Comment from Ronan: “I am very excited to join a superb team of educators at Brisbane School District and to continue with the exceptional programs offered by the District. I look forward to becoming an active member of this community, and working hard to insure a quality education for all children.”
Board President Leo Tingin says, "With the guidance of HYA and Associates and a very thoughtful and thorough search process, we as a board were able to select the best candidate out of many well-qualified and deserving candidates. I was very impressed by my site visit to Mr. Collver’s prior district where he is well-respected by students, parents and staff alike, and I am truly excited to have him as our new superintendent.”
California Healthy Kids Survey
The California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS) is a powerful tool for use in Grades 5-12 that can help schools and districts accurately identify areas of student and school strengths and weaknesses, and address related needs. It provides a comprehensive, data-driven, decision-making process to guide efforts to improve school climate, learning supports, and engagement, as well as identify and increase the quality of health, prevention, and youth development programs.

The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education.'
