Intra-District Request Transfers

Brisbane School District families who are already enrolled and attending Brisbane Elementary School or Panorama Elementary School, and wish to change schools for the next school year may request a transfer.

Brisbane Elementary School and Panorama Elementary School students (5th Graders) transferring to Lipman Middle School do NOT need to complete this form. 

 
 
Application Period for the 2026-2025 School Year
 
 
Transitional Kindergarten (TK) intra-district request forms will be available on Monday, February 2, 2026.
 
Grades K-4th intra-district request form will be available on Monday, February 9, 2026.
 
Transfer requested by February 28, 2026 will be given priority consideration. "Priority" means that if space is available, your request will be considered before admitting new residents or interdistrict transfers. 
 
Transfers completed on or after March 1, 2026 will be considered in the order in which they are received. 
 
 
Intra-District Transfer Criteria
  1. The superintendent or designee shall determine the capacity of each District school. When space is available, intra-district transfer applications will be considered in the order received.  

  2. Students who are District residents will have priority of placement above students who live outside District boundaries until the end of the priority enrollment period. After the priority period ends, transfer requests will be considered in the order in which they were received.

  3. The Brisbane School District does not maintain waiting lists. If a transfer does not occur in one year, the parents/guardians must re-apply in subsequent years. BSD also does not consider mid-year transfers unless there are special mitigating factors.  

  4. The provisions of Board Policy and Administrative Regulation 5116.1(a) shall apply to the intradistrict transfer process.

  5. Transfer of pupils between schools may impact after-school program enrollment. Parents are responsible for enrolling their child(ren) in applicable after-school programs through City of Brisbane or City of Daly City Parks and Recreation departments
 
Mid-Year Transfers:
 
Brisbane School District does not do mid-year school/student transfers. When demand exceeds capacity, a waiting list is established and parents may exercise their option to have their child(ren) name placed on a list. Once the school year begins, students will not be moved from one school to the next unless extenuating circumstances precipitate a change of school.  Parent/guardians who feel they have a compelling ready for a mid-year transfer should notify the school office. Transfers can only be granted if space is available at the requested grade level.
